Groovy Green Livin Boston MarathonI will forever remember walking with my family in the San Diego Zoo when I first heard about the Boston Marathon bombings last year.

After that tragic day I knew in my heart that the spirit of Boston would prevail. And it did. Boston is Strong and forever will be.

There are different stories about where the phrase “Boston Strong” came from, but regardless of it’s origin it’s become our city. The #BostonStrong hashtag has been used more than 1.5 million times and I’m sure that number will increase exponentially on the day of the Boston Marathon this year.

I won’t be in Boston on Marathon Monday, but my friend Julia will be there along with many others  showing their unwavering support for an incredible city and people.

Stonyfield is the Official Yogurt Sponsor of the Boston Marathon

One of my favorite brands, Stonyfield, will be there too since they are the official yogurt sponsor of the 2014 Boston Marathon. How cool is that?

Not only are they sponsoring the event, but they’re also sending 10 runners who just missed the cut off due to this year’s large amount of sign ups. They’ll also be there handing out hundreds of thousands of cups of organic yogurt on race day – to runners, their families, and volunteers.

If you feel like tweeting or posting to Instagram on the day of the marathon use the hashtag #StofieldSuperFan for a chance to win a healthy living themed prize including a year long gym membership. If you’re heading to the Boston Marathon be on the lookout for the Stonyfield team.

Next week happens to be our school vacation week. While all those brave and incredible people are running, watching and volunteering at the Boston Marathon I’ll be taking some time off from our regularly scheduled daily marathon (school, work, homework and activities) to be with my family. In everyone’s honor I’ll be thinking of all the runners and snacking on a few Stonyfield Greek yogurts.

The emotional toll from the attacks last year continues to run deep in Massachusetts. We have not forgotten.

Enjoy the week, be strong and I’ll see you back here in a few……

Let me know if you’ll be at the Boston Marathon!

Disclosure: Stonyfield sent me a sampling of their Stonyfield Greek yogurt to test. I work closely with Stonyfield as a Yo-Getter Captain and am compensated for this. All opinions in this post are my very own.

  1. Great post, and thanks for the mention! :) I had no idea Stonyfield was a sponsor of the marathon–how cool! I’ll see them at the Expo tomorrow and will be sure to stop by and say hi!

  2. You’re so welcome Julia. Hope Marathon Monday goes well for you. Hope to see you soon!
