As heat waves are occurring across the U.S. right now, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense program [2] put together an Infographic on how to save water at home. As we all know, outdoor water use spikes in the hot weather [3]–this infographic illustrates that during the summer, a family can use up to 3,000 gallons of fresh water per day.
In an effort to curb over-watering and protect the future of the nation’s water supply, there are also a few useful tips to prevent wasting thousands of gallons of water in your yard and garden.
